The Board of Trustees has approved the FY21 Budget for Idaho Falls School District 91. Facing a 1 percent holdback for the 2019-20 school year, and a 5 percent cut for the 2020-21 school year, D91 will see total reductions of more than $2 million. But, with the board’s wise financial stewardship over the years, D91 will be able to offset the cuts by using up to $2 million from the district’s reserve fund. Learn more about the FY21Budget. See FY21 Budget.
COVID-19 is expected to impact school budgets for years to come. Using reserve funds to cover revenue shortfalls is not sustainable in the long run, and that is an issue the district will need to address if the state continues to reduce education funding in the future.
